My first attempt at Impasto resulted in a textured landscape of the North Point Overlook in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. As a local, I'm proud showcase the beautiful scenery found in Sheboygan using oil paint as a medium. 

Above is the completed oil painting of the North Point Overlook with many different textures and colors used to enhance the original scene. 

Here you can see the different techniques used to achieve a smooth, glasslike pond in contrast to the textured, three dimensional rocks and grass. 

I began with an undertone of blue oil paint and used charcoal to roughly sketch out the shape of the land for reference.
